Rules & Regulations

1. ATTENDANCE: It is required that all dancers attend; 1) company classes; 2) necessary rehearsals for performances; and 3) at least one ballet lesson per week with the teacher of their choice. Soloists and Senior Company will be required to attend additional rehearsals.
2. CHANGE OF STUDIO: No dancer will change his/her school of ballet study during the course of the contract unless written permission is obtained from the present school. This is to protect the interest of all dance schools in the area.
3. ABSENCES: DANCERS WITH (2)
NON-EXCUSED ABSENCES FROM CLASS OR REHEARSAL WILL BE DROPPED FROM THE
PERFORMING ROSTER.. In general, the following shall constitute excused
absences: contagious illness or those requiring bed rest; death in the
family; injury requiring recovery prior to dancing. Any other absences
will be considered unexcused unless permission is granted by the Artistic
Director, subject to approval by the Executive Board.
The Artistic Director must be notified in writing for the
absence to excused each and every time.
4. TARDINESS: Dancers are expected to arrive on time and to remain for the entire class or rehearsal. Habitual tardiness will be grounds for dismissal.
5. APPEARANCE: Dancers are expected to maintain performing weight and appearance at all times during the course of the contract. Dancers must wear proper shoes and attire to all rehearsals.
6. PERFORMANCES: No dancer may engage in any dance performances, dance demonstrations, or other type theatrical performances which would create a conflict with the ballet company without permission of the Artistic Director and the Executive Board.
7. EQUIPMENT: Dancers are expected to furnish their own leotards, tights, shoes, and personal dance equipment for classes, rehearsals, and performances. Appropriate costumes and necessary additional dance wear will be furnished as needed for performances. Such costumes and equipment remain the property of the company and the dancer is expected to observe the rules established by the Company Manager in caring for the wardrobe and equipment. When one costume becomes unwearable, it means the whole group has to be replaced, you will be charged accordingly if this is to happen through your negligence.
8. FOOD: No food, alcohol, tobacco, or drug products are allowed in the studios.
9. NOTICE: Flagrant violation of any of the above rules, or generally accepted standards of decorum, will result in the offending dancer being placed on probation. Continuance of violations shall result in dismissal, written notification of which will be sent to the dancer by the Executive Board or its representative.
10. FEES: There is a fee of Seventy five Dollars ($75.00) for each dancer. This fee covers, company fee, costume fee, one guild membership, two tickets, and a Nutcracker T-shirt.
